HAMBURGER JESUS OR WORDS THAT OFFEND?

In the Book of Joshua, Chapter 1, God said to Joshua,

8 This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do.

9 Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

This came to mind when I heard Charlie Kirk say how he wanted to be remembered. His answer;  I want to be remembered. For courage for my faith that would be the most important thing, the most important thing is my faith

It is times like these when one has to wonder, what Jesus people are believing in, is it their own "Have it Your Way" hamburger Jesus or is it the Jesus of the Bible.

I ask that because the Jesus of the Bible did offend people and cause division among people, in fact, "division" was one of His stated purposes for coming.

It takes courage to boldly proclaim The Truth

Luke 12:51 “Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division.

Jesus came to divide sheep from goats, wheat from tare, believers from non believers and that only happens through the preaching of Truth!

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

The Word divides, within and without!

If you're a Truth Teller, proclaiming the Gospel of Christ Jesus, unfortunately some people will be offended, angry and emotionally distraught but nevertheless, a division is taking place, first within the heart of every person that hears The Truth and then in the ensuing responses of those that hear The Truth.

Some will hear the voice of The Shepherd, others will reject the call of The Shepherd. Jesus Himself said "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27

Jesus knows His Sheep and He also knows, those who are not His.

John 7:43 So there was a division among the people because of Him.

John 9:16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And there was a division among them.

John 10:19 Therefore there was a division again among the Jews because of these sayings.

The Apostle Paul went to prison because his words offended those in power and Except for the Apostle John, and Judas for obvious reasons, the disciples were all martyred for speaking words that divided and offended

Luke 7:23 “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”

Hamburger Jesus would never offend anyone because Hamburger Jesus would not address or even care for the heart of a person, only whether or not the person liked them or not but the only concern of the Jesus of the Bible, The Jesus that Believers follow, is the condition of our heart. If there's confusion, enmity against God, lies, stress, heaviness and anything that keeps us out of right relationship with The Father, Jesus wants to cause a division within your heart to separate you from whatever is keeping a person from accepting Him as Lord and Savior!
